Pharaoh ants are a yellowish-brown color and can sometimes be tough to spot since they are less than a tenth of an inch long (about 2mm). The colony structure of these ants is interesting, because they make a number of different nests scattered throughout one area. The major difficulty with this species is that it can be difficult to eradicate an entire colony, given this unique nesting structure. Another important note is that these ants do bite. Although these bites typically aren’t painful, they can spread disease.
Pavement ants are small (3mm), brownish-black ants that got the name from typically residing in pavement and sidewalk cracks. While they typically live outdoors, they will come through cracks in foundations in search of food. Pavement ants can sting, but they are docile and unlikely to do so unless provoked. These stings are generally harmless, but an allergic reaction may occur in some people.
Carpenter ants are dark brown or black and measure a quarter of an inch to half an inch long. While most reside in decaying tree stumps and logs, weak building material in the home is also a perfect spot for them. Since they tunnel through wood to create their nests, they can do structural damage to your house over time. This species is very protective of their nest and will bite if their home is threatened. Due to their size, these bites can potentially break skin. If the ant uses a defensive chemical as well, the pain from the bite will last longer.
Argentine ants are dark brown and measure about 3mm long. These ants will seek out moist areas such as mulch piles or water pipes. Despite not causing significant structural damage, this species is territorial and will bite if provoked. What makes Argentine ants so difficult to exterminate is that they will work together with other ant species to create “super colonies” and the only way to get rid of them is by killing the queen.

A thorough inspection is the first step in effective ant control. Our trained professionals examine your property to identify active ant colonies, entry points, and the factors contributing to the infestation. We also check high-risk areas, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces. This comprehensive inspection allows us to understand the severity of the problem and develop a customized treatment plan designed to target the specific ant species and address the root cause of the infestation.
Our initial treatment focuses on eliminating the active ant population. We use eco-friendly, safe products designed to target ants where they nest and breed. The treatment not only kills the ants you see but also reaches the colony, helping to prevent future outbreaks. We tailor the treatment to the specific type of ant species and the layout of your property, ensuring a comprehensive solution that addresses both indoor and outdoor areas where ants might be thriving.
To ensure long-term protection, we apply a follow-up barrier treatment around the perimeter of your property. This treatment creates a protective shield to deter ants from returning. It also helps to eliminate any stragglers that may have survived the initial treatment. Our follow-up visits allow us to monitor the situation and adjust the treatment plan if needed, ensuring your home remains ant-free and preventing any future infestations.
